Going diving in Hood Canal, WA...what else is there to do around there?

I'm going to be heading to the Hood Canal to do some diving sometime in the next month or two. I've been diving at Hoodsport, but have never seen much of the surrounding area. For this trip, I will be meeting a friend who is not yet certified. Does anyone have any suggestions for what my friend can do around there while I'm diving or what we can do while I'm not diving?

And, of course, tell me about the best DIVING in the area too, so I can take advantage of it while I'm there!
