After a recent dive, I neglected to thoughouly clean my ss sherwood diveknife. There is now small spots of rust on the blade and in the shaft under the platic (after removed).
Any tips on cleaning for the neglegent diver???;-0
THANKS

A little brass wool will take the rust off easily. Polish it with Flitz.

if you can grip the knife withouth the scales (handle) I would
suggest NOT replacing them ... they trap water. Better to
carry a simple bar of steel with a sharp edge and no water
trapping potential.

A quick dip of the stripped metal parts in cool dilute phosphoric acid will work nicely, without damage to the finish of the adjacent sound stainless.
If you don't keep Exrust from Kano Labs handy (It's good for all sorts of things!), use Coke Classic and dip it longer, say overnightish. Then run it though the dish washer while still disassembled.
