About 6 years ago we stopped by the recreation area on South Pond in Stark NH. I got to go in snorkeling for a bit. As I recall the water was the clearest I've ever seen and at least as far out as I went had a clean gravel bottom, perhaps the gravel was laid as part of the national park beach. The water was also darned cold even at the beginning of August. It was a long uphill climb to the place, probably spring fed. I'm looking to dive the place if it's permitted.

Has anyone dived this place? Know if diving is permitted? Other pertinent facts?

At an elevation of 1115 feet are NDL allowances required? It will be a while before we consider going the whole 115 feet.

For some reason, link is cut when paste in.

I don't understand, I just clicked on my original post and the link did take me to the South Pond info page.

Any recent information or experience regarding South Pond, in Starks NH? My wife would really like to dive there Monday.

For what it's worth I did get confirmation back from a ranger that diving from the day use area is permitted. I wasn't home to take the call so I didn't get to dig for details.
