has anyone used this yet? i'm thinking of getting one w/ikelite housing.in the specs it says it has an" underwater scene mode".what does this do? b.s. maybe?

From what I have heard (I haven't seen one yet), the underwater mode does some color correction for underwater shots based on using their optional housing.

I will be interested to see what it does. Might be a useful feature for shallow water/ snorkeling.

Ike doesn't have a housing for the 7900. If you use a strobe you don't need any special u/w mode.

ohh. u mean the housing for 5200..not the 5900... I don't think the housing will fit the 7900 mate... the buttons are all located in different positions.

have a look at the camera back in these sites:

either i have a magic computer or you're not seeing it. it's there,5900-7900 housing, page 3, third listing from the bottom.you are looking at b&h photo, right? this will be my forth ike housing i've bought from them so i trust them.here is the link. i should have put this up first http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=380983&is=REG

ok.. got it, its a new one that ikelite is developing.. think it will be out in may/june. Good luck with it. The 7900 looks like a nice camera. Give a review on it when u try it out.
