I'm going to Freeport next week and was planning on taking an all day trip out to Memory Rock. It is a long haul and I was wondering if it was worth it. If someone would tell me of any other (not overdived) site off the south shore I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Tumschtun

Memory rock is definately well worth the trip. That side of the island is almost virgin. Memory rock is teeming with fish.

Never heard of it.
So........ I'd like to hear all about it when you get back!!
Please?? :)

I'll be returning to Freeport in November.

Oh yeah, Have a great trip!!

I just wrote a trip report where we dove in the Memory Rock area. Sites included Surgar Wreck, Muriel's Garden and the White Sand Ridge. It was a fantastic trip, a combination of scuba diving and dolphin encounters. If you'd like to read the trip report see:

Even it you don't have time to read the report, take a look at Jonathan Bird's report which is linked. He has some great pictures.

Rats.......The ocean was too rough last week for us to make the Memory Rock trip. We were in a 23' Grady White, and it would have taken forever to get there with 4' swells. I guess thats give me something to look forward to, thhe next time I go to Freeport.
