Riffe bands: black vs. clear

I'll be replacing the bands on my Riffe C-3XS soon.

I recall hearing somewhere that the only difference between the Riffe black and clear bands was the color. I just can't remember the source of this information. Can someone confirm or refute.

If all things are equal, I want to order the black bands.

I've read that article before (good article). I'm a member of Spearboard too.

I now need to decide whether I should go with two 9/16" bands, or two 5/8" bands. What size bands do you use on your guns?

I am a rookie. I just started diving in Feb. and I am trying to get soem water time before I start spearing. But I hope to stick a fish in the next few months.

There's not that much of a difference between those sizes. If you are making your own bands, just a small length difference will have more of an effect.
