Honduras Entry Requirements are Being Enforced

We have recently had Honduras bound clients denied boarding by both Continental and Taca Airlines.

Honduras requires that U.S. passports be valid for 90 days beyond your intended stay and that you possess documents for return or onward travel. If you are planning a trip to Honduras or the Bay Islands, please check your passport and renew it if necessary.

Travel agents and group leaders with Honduras travel interests should forward this information to clients and travel companions.

enforcing them. We met some folks at Christmas Dec 2004 who got caught in this situation. The mother and one son came for the vacation, the dad had to stay behind because the 12 year old's passport would expire 3 weeks after his arrival date in Roatan. Only thing was that TACA and Continental didn't check the passport in the US. The kid was denied entry at Roatan so he and the dad had to return on the next flight to the US. Rotten way to spend your vacation.

As a frequent traveler it's a fact that most airlines will not let you board a plane unless your passport is valid for at least 6 months past the date of your departure, I see it in SE Asia all the time!
