Can anybody post a link to a site which has a map of where in the atlas are the indo-pacific, tropical pacific and etc..? I am looking for a reef fish identification guide and found out that books usually are specific..

Don't know about a map, but here's a good book for northern Australia, through Indonesia, PNG, Fiji, Solomon's, French Pol and SE Asia etc.
Reef Fish Identification Tropical Pacific by Allen, Steene, Humann, Deloach
ISBN 1-878348-36-1

Is the Philippines part of the tropical pacific?

Yes Alcina is right, I bought one thru the internet at barnesandnoble.com for 36 US dollars. Pix are great with short write ups and I didn't know there could be so many "variations" in one specie and they don't look like they're "cousins"!
