Hi,
I would like to rent a bareboat (without a captain or crew) sailboat in Bahamas about 40-45 feet with a dive compressor on board. Is that possible? Can anybody suggest me whom I can contact regarding this?

Thanks
Best Regards
Hamdi

Tom, Looks like this is just a repackaging of charter companies, many of whom I know and none of whom I suspect would routinely have a compressor onboard. If there is a way to search for boats with that feature, I'd also be interested. I tried and didn't find such a thing. Do you have more detailed information?

Hamdi, I'm not sure where you plan to go, but in most of the places you can do a bareboat in the Bahamas getting fills isn't too much of a problem. I suspect you will have a hard time finding a boat with a compressor -- certainly not wiht any of the mainstream companies. I imagine liability would be a concern (unfortunately). Good luck and do post back if you find something.

The bareboat companies don't allow compressors. Diesel and gas are too messy and electric takes too big a generator. Fills are pretty available unless you are somewhere like Conception J (My favorite Dive in the Bahamas.)
