Hi, We are going to Nassau in the Bahamas in mid January and was wondering if we could dive with skins & 3mm wet suit or do we need 5mm wet suit? We are not planning to dive deep.

Thanks,
Dave.

I took both 3 and 5, wound up using the 5 and was very comfortable. A friend who brought a 3 only wound up cold. You will want a 5 for the wall dives.

We dove Nassau (New Providence) quite a few years ago in January and the entire week a cold front moved through with high winds. It was blowing the water out of the pool. Some dives were cancelled. The water and air temps were 64 F. I had a 3mm and fleece skin and was cold on every dive. 5mm would have been better. You could get better topside weather but water temps could still be low. Just depends.
