I do not dive nitrox but I wanted to hear why everyone does. These are the most common answers I have recieved.
 
The last two choices are debatable, as increased O2 can also cause narcosis, and there is no evidence that it decreases the tired feeling. The only reason I use nitrox is for accelerated decompression gases.
 
i'm not sure there's any scientific evidence that Nitrox helps with narcosis

Stay down longer, stay on the surface shorter. What else is there. Actually after my OW cert, Nitrox was one of the priority certs I wanted.
 
Lower the risk of DCS if you dive nitrox using air tables or extended bottom times within depth limits of the nitrox mix compared to air (which is actually 21% nitrox).

Andy - it makes us speedo divers invincible! Thats what it does! People can stare at our speedo clad bodies diving for 2 hours on a 50' dive!!
