    Question Dive Instructors

I did a search before posting this and did not find a ton of information so I will ask it here. I'm researching a possible change in career from the corprate world to the scuba instructor world. My question is what is a reasonable salary a full-time Divemaster/Instructor can make working in either Florida or the Caribbean? I know that I will not get rich as an instructor but I just wanted to get an idea of whether or not I will be eating PB&J for dinner every night or not . I also have UW Photography skills that I could leverage as well.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Regards.

I don't suppose in your corporate life, you are a diesel mechanic or a boat captain?
Some people are like slinkys: Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Q: What is the difference between a scuba instructor and a large pepperoni pizza?
A: The pizza can feed a family of 4.

Becoming a Scuba instructor is a lot like becoming a monk. More bubbles, less money, but in either case you will probably have to give up everthing you own)

You won't be able to afford PB&J.

There is no reasonable salary. They all stink

    Tips, my man, tips.

Images? Gotta do video, gotta do production, gotta sell 'em the dvd after the big dive. Only way.

PBJ is too pricey. Look into Macaroni. Step up to mac & cheese when you can.

Marry a woman who has a career that pays well and is willing to support you. It works for us :-)

Plus, I can say that I'm sleeping with my DM in lieu of tips...
