    divers who wear glasses?!

OK, i am sure that this has been posted before, im sure i have probably even posted it before, but im asking again.

i know you can buy masks with RX lenses.. but i dont want to waste my time or money on those..

i fully intend on having laser eye surgery in the near future.. once i get to Costa Rica.. but until then, is it acceptable to wear contacts?? i usually wear contacts to the beach, i just dont open my eyes in the water. in theory would contacts work for diving??

or could i wear my glasses??

I have been diving with contacts from the beginning. Sometimes I'll lose one (usually on the first dive of the first day) but always carry a few extra in my save-a-dive kit. Never had any problems.

I've tried wearing my glasses under my mask.

Wear your contacts - many do.
You can test the tanks you breathe or - dive on hope.
    Testing is safer...

Great news for vacation divers who cannot talk themselves into buying a personal CO tank tester!

    >> Rent one for a week or longer here <<
Now let's see more CO readings in your trip reports, ok...??

    Well
It very much depends on how strong glasses you wear. I use contact lenses but the daily ones. And I only have minus 2, so even if I loose them (because of flooded mask) I still can see. But if I have more I would not hesitate and buy myself a mask because it'w worth having it really....

One that will stay on your face with just a little suction, no mask strap, for a good seal.

But why would you want a shorty? You don't want to protect your legs and arms from stingers and cold? The thimble jellies were doing a number on the ppl in shorites in Coz last week.

Get a Skin and a 3 mil Long, then start looking at layer option for colder water. I carry a light beanie in my BC pocket and just strap it on when I start to feel a chill. Works wonders.

    Soft contacts work great!

Make sure you go with disposables, since seawater contains things that the cleaning solution can't always kill.

There are a couple of different types of eye surgery. I beleive one is more "dive friendly" than the other, but don't remember which is which. Do a search here and you shoul get some good results.

Just bought my girlfriend the Mares Mid-Vision. She has a narrow face and it fits her fine. Skip the shorty and get a full. More protection.
