What would happen if you take an egg to 100 feet, and cracked it open? will it explode, or the yoke would be hold together?any ideas

Dave Zimmerly:
Because there is no air in the egg to contract or expand, nothing would happen.

Dave (aka "Squirt")
Do you mean the yoke will get out the egg and stay in water in solid shape?

I like my over easy, thanks.

Wayward Son:
A bunch of nearby fish would eat it.

Hmmmmm, a new tactic for spearfishing...
Isn't that considered baiting? And isn't that unethical? :D

I'd bet since the pressure would be equal all around the egg, it wouldn't collapse at any reasonable depth.

Sure & maybe, maybe not. Depends on where you are, in some places baiting is a time honored tradition, in others totally unaccepted, in most some mix of both depending on species.

But fishermen use bait to catch fish, so why not use bait to bring them in?
