Wow, that is a real tragedy to both the diving and research community.
My prayers go out to the family.
It is very hard to understand how an experienced diver like
David could succumb to such an event. It reminds all of us
the inherent danger in diving and the need to be ever vigilant
of our equipment and abilities.
 
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and all of his diving and non diving friends.
 
I saw this in the LA Times today. According to the obituary, the diver had DCS and went into cardiac arrest....the autopsy has not been completed yet to determine the true cause of death....very sad indeed....
