Hi All

I just got back from Devils Den here in Fla. Great staff, on-site pool and very good training site. I was working on certifing my 92 year old Grandfather as a PADI SCUBA diver.

Unfortunately, it didn't work out as he can't equalize. We tried everything to no avail. We were both disapointed, but he understood that standards are standards. He wanted a certification, not a resort dive. Anyway, I was curious. How old is (or was) the oldest certified diver?

Thanks, Ken

Hi Ken,

There a number of active divers in their 80's. Oldest I know of is Ed Ball, now 95. He celebrated his 94th birthday in Nov '99 with a dive to 94'.

I hope to be there.
