In response to the Thread "what did you buy that you regret" this is about what peice of scuba gear or random scuba accessory that you have bought. mabye you found a simple soloution to a problem that you would like to share. or you might have found a small fin company that makes great fins. but they are hard to come buy so you want to tell other divers. im new to diving and im sure this would help me and other new divers.

Thanks

training: so far, Rescue, Nitrox, Cavern, DIR-F, Intro. Cave, Apprentice Cave, Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures

dive rite backplate

halcyon backplate

halcyon pioneer wings

halcyon explorer wings

dive rite canister light

spring straps for fins

nitek HE computer

Apeks regulators (AT50 and AT40)

used and beat up TLS 350 dry suit ... it has been awesome

double 85 worthington tanks

I don't regret the purchase of:

used drysuit (DUI CF200)

Halcyon stainless steel backplate and wings

Apeks regs (a DS4 first with two ATX50 seconds)

two pair of Scubapro Jetfins (L for diving wet, XL for diving dry)

Oh, and a weight belt with a stainless steel buckle.

I'm sure there's more, but that's what stands out at the moment.

The diving purchases that are actively making me happiest these days:

My Salvo 21W HID light. My favorite piece of dive gear, bar none.

Spring straps. This is one thing I think every single diver on earth would enjoy having.

My doubled 85s. There's nothing like finding the RIGHT tanks.

Gently used Drysuit.
Steel HP120
SP Jet fins
Aeris XR-2 computer
Zeagle Stuff (Reg & BC)

No regrets on:

Dry Suit
Dry suit undergarments: thinsulate a must
Dry gloves.....ahhhhhhhhhh
Sherwood Blizzard regs (circa 1991 and going strong) should have set up as DIN however)
Wrist slate
parts for my UW housing
turtle fins
7 foot hose
A better mask, get a good one right off the bat
Dive computer suitable to my diving (Aeris atmos 2)
my wifes engagment /wedding ring (before someone says the opposite)

Tons of stuff ... tops on the list ...

Salvo canister light
DSS plates, wings, and wrist widgets
DUI drysuits (TLS350 and CLX450 ... great suits)
Nitek HE dive computer (would've preferred a Cochran but the Nitek was half the price)
Scubapro MK25 regs for my doubles (I like the way they route much better than my DS4's)
Spring straps with Turtle fins attached
Prescription masks

But my all-time favorite piece of scuba equipment ... my Honda Element ... the ultimate diving machine ... :D

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

Lumbar pad for my Zeagle Ranger

T2 reg - the thing breathes for me and stays dry, even upside down.

Tusa Expert Zooms - no more sore calves after long swims.

I also like my Uwatec wrist computer, it thinks like I do and displays the right info for the situation I'm in w/o any manipulation.

I really like my Scuba Pro Reg and my Tusa X-pert Zoom split fins. Have no regrets about my scuba pro Glideplus BC; glad I have my SMB; love my Pelican AquaKing 80 Light (torch); crazy about my titanium squeeze lock knife; shoots, I like everything I have except that .. oh yea, that goes in another thread.

My first used Scubapro Mk10/BA/Adj on ebay. My newer regs now mostly sit on the bench and I dive old SP metals exclusively as my primary rig.
