I am going to start dry suit class in a few weeks. There has been time when I swear, diving makes me wants to pee.

I see that they have condom catheter and bags that you can strap in your leg... Have you considered using that before??

If not doing very long duration technical dives then dont bother.

Just go prior to kitting up. Most humans should be able to hold their bladder for an hour.

If you Pee in a drysuit it's a Wet suit.:D

Don't get a dry suit with a back zipper if you have buddies with a cruel sense of humor!

It's just my opinion, but I think one of the reasons some people have problems with urination and dry suits is the fact that theye become OVER hydrated before a dive.

We all know that not being UNDER hydrated can facilitate the onset of DCS, but there is just absolutely no need to suck down 2 litres of water before a dive.

Just be PROPERLY hydrated.

I know not where it started, perhaps with the jogging craze and running shoes commercials, but I constantly see people walking around sucking on a bottle of water.

I pray dearly that these people never have to go anywhere that is an arid environment.

I have a relief zipper on the lower front of my suit. Doesn't do me any good under H2O but on the surface I don't have to get out of my suit to go.

I had a pee-valve in my suit long before I started doing technical diving and I'm not a water-chugger - I just find I have to go as soon as my hands get wet. Best $100 I ever spent especially since it's a rear entry suit and a p-valve allows me to go without taking off the wrist and neck seals.

From http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=176625

loosebits:
This is what I've learned from my use of p-valves:

1) Rochester Widebands *never* blow off.

2) After several days of diving, the glue tends to build up and you can lose skin taking the catheters off. Scrub *well* after removing it and the next one will be much easier. If you're enjoying the scrubbing, you're doing it wrong.

3) Trim the grass.. you don't need to look like a porn star but hairs that find themselves in the wrong place can really tweak.

4) Cut a bit off the tip of the catheter to avoid kinks. Trim enough so that the nipple on the p-valve goes just past the tip of the catheter.

5) If it's hot outside, put the catheter on before going to the dive site. Sweat keeps it from staying on.

6) If it's cold outside, put the cathetar on before going to the dive site. If your turtle has run back into his shell, the cathetar won't have as much surface area to adhere to.

7) Give it a test go before suiting up all the way.

8) If you do have a kink, don't try to force it. If the catheter doesn't blow off, it will balloon until you can no longer hold the pressure and then you will end up with a urinary tract infection. Your wife/girlfriend can tell you how fun those can be.

9) If you have a balanced p-valve, make sure the bolt is open before ascending
(or don't dive with the bolt at all). Otherwise the air in the catheter won't have anywhere to go and it will blow up like a balloon.

10) If you're not sure you remembered to plug in, you probably didn't.

And finally, when you get a new suit first thing you need to do is take it out back, turn it inside out and piss all over it. It's going to happen some day, might as well get it over with.

My dad uses a leg bag (he's in a wheel chair).. don't think it would be that great of an idea. Suit squeeze might cause some problems.

you have too pee when you get in theh water because the added pressure on you body naturally increases the body blood pressure slightly causing the urge to go. then theres the whole cyco babble logical bs about it as well people makin more of a issue outa it than need be..
so.
option 1
man up and deal with it.
option 2
get a pee valve. ( use this when needed only.... think of it more as a bladder bail out, not to be used as part of your normal dive plan )
option 3
diaper
hey to each there own. some people are into that kinda thing.
option 4 go ahead and just pee, its not my suit...

now on a thread about this in the past i recall a suggestion of kitty litter in you boots..
i dont recomend it but i did find it humorous.

Well, I suppose putting kitty litter in your D/S and peeing in it is one way to take care of floaty feet, but I think I'd prefer ankle weights !!! :11:
