i got a call from a diver who found one of my dog tags that i had attached to a locker key from casino point, catalina island! (my phone number is on the tag, too...)

it was in the park; in the ocean! amazing! i guess, the last time i was at the park, i attached my tag to the key, hoping not to lose it... and if i had, someone would call me and return it to me...

well, i must have left it on the key, used it to open the locker, and gotten my stuff. someone else must have used the locker, and then lost the key in the ocean! it was just found this weekend.

wow! i think that trip was several months ago, too. he said he saw the orange band around the base of the key on the ocean floor. with all that surge and current, what are the odds?

strange things happen!

in 1999 i lost my wenoka dive knife (tears) and about 8 months later i got a phone call from a friend of a friend (now my hubby-then just a buddy) who said he found it and remembered hearing about me loosing a knife.

cheers

I know it's not as hard to imagine as your experience, but this past weekend when diving at the local quarry, one of my buddies found a lift bag that had been lost by somebody else I was diving with in that same quarry last july.

It's amazing what can be found. If you ever want to find alot of junk dive near a marina. You'll find lots of stuff. I let a friend borrow a large magnet and found a shotgun in muddy water.

My SO lost a hat in a large lake we dive at, and during the last dive of the year, (or at least the last non-ice dive,) two divers found it and gave us a call.

But really, finding something in the ocean?! That is darn cool.

Wonder who was killed with it?

We were on our honeymoon in the UP of MI, and started talking about our recently married friends and what they were doing (always fighting?).

Lord behold, as we were walking to Teconaman (sp?) water fall, and while we were speaking about them, they were approaching us from right behind!!

The odds of it happening, running into a friend, in the middle of nowhere is pretty low.

But running into them while you are bad mouthing them (not really bad) is even lower.

Strange things happen everyday.
