PADI Cavern Book?

Does PADI have a book for their cavern course? The shop i go through said PADI doesn't have a book for it. So im doing a cavern class with no book. Does this sound right to anyone? I just wanted to check to make sure i'm not getting a bad deal here.

I just checked the PADI site for a book and they do not have one listed for the diver level of cavern. I guess you have to get all information from the instructor

Many instructors use other agencies' books. Our cavern was also PADI. We used Basic Cave Diving - A Blueprint for Survival by Sheck Exley and the NSS Cavern Diving Manual. You can see both here. I would recommend getting both of those as they are great reads. http://www.caves.org/service/bookstore/diving.html

PADI recommends using one of the cave agencies' books, either NACD or NSS-CDS, for their cavern course. Your instructor should have required that. There's a lot of information in those books that should be conveyed in the course. Not having a book does not sound right. You should definitely purchase one of them and read them. Sheck's book is also an excellent book.
