I'm looking for a computer, wrist style, and i found the Aeris XR-1 on Scubatoys. I just do recreational diving and don't plan on going to nitrox anytime soon. I read a few good reviews but is this computer going to do pretty much all i need it to do? Also, i couldn't seem to find it, but does Aeris have any type of warranty?

The XR1 is a good entry level computer. Very easy to use and inexpensive. They now make an XR1 NX (nitrox).
The XR1 doesn't have any "bells and whistles" as they say. ie. No alarms, no backlight, not downloadable, so make sure it doesn't lack some feature that you really want. For example, I dive some darker quarrys and would have liked a backlight a few times - but not that big a deal either.

A Nitrogen Loading Bar is equivalent to the letter group of your dive table. It will increase as you dive and decrease while you are on the surface. It will show you graphically and in real time how close you are getting to your NDL (No Decompression Limit) and will usually have green (below threshold) yellow (close to the edge) and red (into decompression) areas to assist you in seeing where you are.
The great thing about computers is that they will calculate multi-level dives FOR you with a minimum of fuss. There are a few caveats to remember when diving with computers. Change your battery once a year or if it gets to the last "bar" of charge. If the unit craps out you should stay out of the water for a full 24 hours. Also, increase that safety stop from 3 to 5 minutes and add a deep stop if you descend below 40 feet (1 minute at half your depth). Most agencies recommend the longer hang time when you are using a computer because you are able to "ride" the NDL and get far closer to that limit than with a table. Doing your safety stop in this manner will also increase your pep after the dive and give you a much needed safety edge.
Make sure you get a nitrox computer. It is only a little more money and you will soon be a nitrox driver if you dive off of the SC coast very much. It will keep you from having to buy a new one later.
thanks guys..."anytime", why do you say that i will be diving nitrox soon? I really plan on diving air for at least a couple of years...am i missing something?

Wow for $144 bucks that is a pretty good deal. I would also recomend the Nitrox version. I have 2 of the XR2's Great computer. I have not had any problems. Intuitive (for me) operation.
