Diving Equipment Shows in NE?

I am a new diver and interested in going to a exhibit/show this year to purchase new equipment. I live in CT and heard there were some shows in the tri-state area or mass. Can anyone inform if the scubaboard lists these sites or if you know of any in this area and when?
Thanks
J

Another one to try is the Boston Sea Rovers show in Boston. It's slated for March 6-8 this year.
I can't post the url as I haven't posted 5 times yet but the site name is www followed by bostonsearovers followed by dotcom.

I haven't been to Beneath the Sea, but AFAIK it's a much larger show then Boston and probably a better place to look at equipment. The Boston exhibit floor seems limited as far as equipment and you won't see all brands on display. (Usually some great presentations though.)

I'm not sure if these shows are a good place to actually buy stuff, or better just for looking at a bunch of stuff in one place.

BTS is definitely much larger than Sea Rovers but as a new diver why not do both. I did that my first year and I learned a lot from both shows and neither one was very far away. Damselfish is right as to the presentations at Sea Rovers. They were very well done.

As a Sea Rover I should be sending you to Boston, but Zig has a great show down at the Meadowlands and it usually does have a larger equipment representation. I think we have a more interesting group of speakers in a less formal environment that is much more conducive to informal interaction.

Lots to see at Beneath the Sea! One tip, (well unless you have an unlimited disposable income) walk through the WHOLE THING before purchasing anything!

You can spend a whole lotta cash in the first two aisles!

Been there twice, and haven't walked out without spending at least $100. - $200.
