I've seen in many comedies and animated cartoons that everytime
you cut the hose connected a diver's tank his suit gets filled with
water and he floats upwards to the surface. That's the lighter side
But after seeing an underwater fight sence in a old Tarzan TV episode (starring Roy Ely) in which he fought a gang of scuba divers and that climatic underwater fight sence in the James Bond
007 movie "Thunderball"(1963), I notice it not that funny. Is it
really dangerous and are there divers that idiotic to attempt this
foolish stunt? Especially in a fight?

Under controlled conditions, like a movie set, while I'd never call it safe, it's safer, anyway.
