Like any sport, you will find an entire new language to learn of abbreviations/acronyms. I found a website that has an entire list of commonly used acronyms for diving. For all of those new to diving, it will probably help you understand what the heck us regular divers are talking about in the threads! :D

We need to start a list of the missing acronyms though, like PIWWN (Pees In Wetsuit When Needed).
 
blowing off - Omitting something, typically omitting required decompression.

OK, now I understand why I got that reaction from my instructor....
