Interesting read. Is this all part of a federal act (ie applicable to all 50 states) or is this Louisiana-specific legislation based originally on a federal act?

Right. I just couldn't determine if the Jones Act was the foundation for further Louisiana legislation, which would mean that some of the examples/explanations are only specific to Louisiana, or if they were only clarifying the Jones Act in and of itself (making the site more universal). Sorry for any confusion.
