We have diving all along the coast, what are you looking for? What time of year? We have a very wide temperature range. RI reaches the low 70s in the summer and falls into the 30s in the winter. RI diving is best for fishing, I freedive there. There are also some wrecks such as the U-853 and a reportedly very good shark dive out of Point Judith. Vis is lower in RI typically 8-12 ft, and the variety of macro life is more limited, so sightseeing isn't as good as other places. In the fall some like to capture tropical fish that rode the gulf stream up and are lost. They will all die by winter so there is no environmental downside.
Most area divers go to Cape Ann for sightseeing. Also a number of good wreck dives.
For macro life the best diving in the Northeast is in Eastport Maine. Temperatures will be around 50 degrees in the summer.
There are other boards with more New England divers online.
