    Triggerfish

How many of you divers have been attacked by queen triggerfish? I dont think anyone has dived enough until they have experienced one. They are more fearsome than sharks:boom:

Good thing they don't get as big as sharks or I would have to give up diving. Luckly they have only gotten their teeth into my fins and wet suit, but a friend had one latch on to his hand and not let go. He had to get in the boat with it so we could get it off. It doesn't have to be a Queen all of them bite.

I don't know if it was a Picasso Trigger or the Queen Trigger, but I went fin to to fin with one in Aitutaki a couple of years ago. In the end I conceded ground. I also have had Garibaldi get in my grill when I've ventured too close to their nest. Gotta love that kind of attitude.

My Sumatra clownfish can also be bit pugnacious.

    I'm a Fish!

    Wild..

Not by wild triggers, but by aquarium triggers. Of course, there are triggers that are exceptions, the one pictured is quite docile and is hand fed. I have been nipped by my white spotted moray once whilst feeding one of my other morays, the white spotted moray came in for a sneak - snatch of the food I was holding and I got nailed. Thus, new rule, The morays are only fed if they are in their caves.

I get along great with the fish in the wild, of course, I don't often feed them.

Come and dive with the Koh Tao (Thailand) triggers

    They're great fun!

We have the odd Titan entertaining us. I've been bitten on the leg, lost a fin and had a couple of near misses with them. Nevermind damzels!

    Queen Triggers!

I've been attacked by Queen triggers on a couple of occasions. One attacked my camera, one attacked my mask, one harangued me abouot the head and shoulders until I left the area!! Vicious and brutal they are, and persistent as all get out.
