Good read but the vertical stage drives me up the wall lol
 
Superb article. The only thing I would add to it would be to consider taking a skills refinement class BEFORE showing up for a an honest-to-goodness technical class -- something like an Intro to Tech, Essentials, or Fundamentals class. The student can often find such a class at home and get a start on those technical-quality skills, before spending the money to travel to do the actual technical or overhead training. (I really think this is true for people who are doing cave training, and have to travel to where the caves are.)

Enjoyed it. I may never pursue tech., but nice to have some idea what it entails if I ever do.
