Do people pack their regulators in hold luggage when flying? I have always carried them in my hand luggage in the past but this year I have a lot of photography equipment so don't think I will have enough room/weight.
What is the best way to pack them in our luggage? Do you stick em in with your bcd, fins etc. or in your clothes to protect them?
Will they attract any attention from security when packed in hold luggage?
Thanks Steve

should be fine. Depending on your second stages I might wrap them in towels or pack the reg bag with T-shirts and socks to keep them from getting cracked, or even just remove the second stages and throw them in with your photography gear. The first stages are solid blocks of brass, so not a lot can go wrong with them, second stages are the fragile bits.

I usually have them in stowed luggage. No problems so far. I do tend to put clothing and such around them for padding.

I carry mine in checked baggage. I have a padded bag for mine. I roll my wife's reg up in a wetsuit. We use other clothing and wetsuits as padding as well. I've never had any problems. YMMV.

I throw ours in our scuba bag. I have for years with no problem. If they are that fragile I wouldn't trust them.

It sits in the wetsuit..

Dive Computer, prescription Dive Mask and regulator should go with you as carry on.

I'm a BP/W type of guy which means I put my back plate in the suitcase first, regulators go on top of the back plate then "soft stuff" goes on top of regulators -- no problems.

I always carry on my regulators, mask (prescription), and wetsuit due to worry about lost luggage. I should revisit my habits. If my luggage is delayed, I am still screwed, since my BP/W usually in my checked bag. After reading the posts, I might only carry in my mask and my iPad - with only minimal carry-on bags.

I've only flown once for diving. I wrapped it up well in the suitcase. I have had many "suspicious" looking things in the checked bag and never had a problem. Has anyone here?
