I am gonna start my PADI advanced in 2 weeks and I wonder which adventure dives are the best. Deep dive and Navigation dive are obligated, so I can pick 3 others.
Night Diver and Peak Performance Buoyancy are good ones, then choose the other one based on what you're interested in. I did Drift because we sometimes do drift dives in my area. I was also able to combine an intro to Nitrox dive into one of my dives.
Since you're in Curacao, you may want to do something like Underwater Naturalist or Underwater Photographer.
Definitely go with a Night Dive. Night Dives rock! [Night dives used to be required but since in some parts of the world and at certain times of the year, it doesn't get dark they were changed to recommended.] I would also recommend taking the Nitrox class, and do 2 of your AOW dives on Nitrox (since there are no in-water skills with Nitrox, those 2 dives are the only ones that can be combined with other dives--many instructors will offer discounts for combining them because it reduces their expenses).
And just for the record, these are "adventure dives' not specialty dives. Adventure dives count as the first dive toward the specialty certifications, but are 2 different things.

If your instructor doesn't cover buoyancy control skills in one of the "obligated" dives, I would strongly suggest the Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty ... buoyancy control is the single most important skill you can work on as a diver, as it affects everything you do underwater.

I've trolled a couple of times on this subject without getting helpful responses, so it's time to ask directly: what is it that you like about night dives? The two that I've done were boring.
Peter, I'm with the consensus - night and buoyancy. I would also consider wreck.

Where did you do your 2 night dives?
Every night dive I've been on has been outstanding. It's a whole different world at night. I've dived sites I've been to dozens of times during the day and have seen fish, etc that don't come out at night. If I could, I'd sleep during the day and dive those same sites all night long. It's the newness of it. Different organisms are out at night than during the day and it's cool to see this. It's like diving a different site.

I've trolled a couple of times on this subject without getting helpful responses, so it's time to ask directly: what is it that you like about night dives? The two that I've done were boring.
First of all, there's often a completely different cast of characters that you see on night dives.
Secondly, think about diving during the day, due to the fact that we lose color as we descend (first red, then orange, then yellow, etc.), when we look out, we see a lot and much of it looks blueish. At night, everything is black except where you shine your light, so your focus is smaller and there all of the colors show up. It's awesome.
To me the difference between diving during the day and at night is the difference between watching TV in your living room during the day and going into a darkened movie theater on a Saturday night. Everything is more colorful, move vivid, and more vibrant.
I did my advanced back in November & had a great time. I did it just before I went on a dive trip to Cozumzel. The classes I chose were Peak Performance Bouyancy, Nite Diving, Navigation, Deep Diving, Boat Diving, & Search & Recovery.
I really enjoyed the Navigation & Search & Recovery. After I took the S&R I purchased a lift bag to use as a surface signal, & just in case we found something cool. The PPB class was fun, but most figures padi gives you only get you in the ball park, but the class was fun. On my night dive we saw a Crab & a Jellyfish entangled together, you weren't sure who had who, it was sweet.
