I use an older Nikon 5700. Technically I think they list it as a Pro-sumer camera. It is not DSLR, but it has many of the same settings to allow flexibility. The downside is you are stuck with the lens it came with (which in this case isn't so bad).
 
Thanks for sharing! I love so many of those shots...but my fav is the fleet (pod?) of squid.
