Heya gadiver,

Three different time I have been diving in Honduras. Very tropical and I enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately for me it rained most the time we were there which did stir things up a bit but overall was still very pleasant. Are you going during the rainy season?

If I take the trip, it will be probably in September. Not sure when the rainy season is there. It looks like a great place though, and I'm torn between there and the Bahamas.

Very late post here, but thought I could add to the "archive" files. Roatan is SO cool and the choices in diving are unlimited. You will not be disappointed. OK, now to add the value to this post:

The Bay Islands are blessed with annual temperatures of about 81 degrees F and nearly perfect weather. From a low in January of 78º F, to a high in August of 94º F, really any month is a great.

You can expect a daytime high in the mid-80's and 90's, with nighttime lows in the 70's. This is your opportunity to relax in the sun and work on your tan.

Rainy season varies from year to year, but on average you could expect rain from October to February. During the rest of the year, rainfall is minimal unless there's a storm in the Caribbean.

Hope it helps anyone doing research!

King Neptune, man there is a name from the past. This is a 5 year old thread.

We just returned last week from one week at the Utila Lodge and one week at Cocoview. Both were wonderful resorts, very relaxed, easy diving and great accomodations and food. The diving was of the best we've done...lots of interesting little stuff and some big stuff too. My favourites were of course the sea horses (need the dm to point those out) and the rays and turtles. I think September is very warm, but not the rainy season yet so you should have a great time.

It's amazing how folks find stuff buried so deep in the archives!

Hi Dee, you and me are a couple of the few who even remember KN. Several weeks ago I saw an old thread with Mario's name on it. I wish some of them would show up again just to say hello.

Wife and I are really getting interested in a trip to Anthony's Key or Utila lodge..

any tips on best way to get there from Dallas? Traditional Travel sites are really making it difficult to find flights w/o going long way round the world...

any advice or input on how and when to go is also appreciated.
I am so impressed with the wealth of knowlege that is shared around here, so thanks in advance!!!
