Whale Sharks in Belize?

I'll be there in mid-May, 15-22, I read online about whale sharks showing up right after a full moon (which will be the 13th).

From most things I've found they show up off Placencia. What are the odds of seeing them off San Pedro?

You won't see anything in San Pedro unless you're really lucky. I did see one once but no one believes me. Gladden Spit is the place. Large schools of snappers gather there to spawn and the whale sharks come to feed on the eggs and milt of the fish. Sometimes they get white outs from so much eggs and sperm being released by the fish. It's happening right now and will still be going in May. Check with Seahorse Dive Shop in Placencia. They're the most reliable for getting you into the sharks. your timing looks good too. It's supposed to be best right after a full moon.
