Looking for info on Banyan Bay Resort, Ambergris Caye, Belize

Hi there Board Members:

I would like to pay homage to and tap into the vast knowledge of this board.

My brother just got OW & AOW (drysuit) certified in Anchorage, AK. Now, He would like to dive somewhere that requires less thermal protection.

I was thinking of Belize. My wife and I have never been to Belize AND my brother has a timeshare setup with Banyan Bay Resort, Ambergris Caye, Belize. I believe the on-site shop is called Bottom Time.

Has anyone stayed (dived from) there? We could always stay at the resort and dive with another shop.

Until I can dive with my brother and check his skill level, we need to try some basic OW diving. I'm looking for a shop that will accommodate us.

What would the diving be like in the July/Aug time frame?

Banyan Bay is one the nicer properties in that area, and I highly recommend it.

The dive shop is well-suited for your present needs, and quite accommodating. Just ask for Eli--she can arrange matters.
