We have a new resort in Belize we are booking, small B&B type of lodge, accommodates 8 divers in 4 rooms. Huracan Diving offers top class service and very personalized attention. Dive like on a liveaboard with up to 5 dives per day. Dive packages for 7 nights are $1790 low season and include:

Transportation to and from the island, all accommodation based on double occupancy, all meals (breakfast buffet American/continental/ English full/a la carte, post dive home baked snack, light dive lunch of salad/kabobs/home made bread sub, post dive snack, 3 course gourmet dinner) tea, coffee, water complimentary, 5 guided dives by boat, snacks and soda/water on the dive boat.

Stoo, I gather you'll still find it good value even though only getting in three dives per day. What's the property like? Is there anything else on the island?

Last year, the ownership changed and the price increased quite a chunk. We had confirmed reservations at the old rate, and the new owners recognized that.

This year, we are going to pay the higher rate, but there are now two of us going, not five. It's still great value though and a really "special" place. If you search a bit, you'll find my trip reports.

In terms of "anything else" to do, I suppose that depends on your definition of "anything". Long Caye is essentially a development that to date, really hasn't gotten off the ground. There's a few trails around that end of the island and some worn-down boardwalks through the marshes, but if you're looking for golf and casinos, look elsewhere.

Last year, as the result of a little transportation issue, we ended up "beached" for a day, so out of desperation, I jumped off of the end of the dock and had an enjoyable 15'/90 minute dive... Lots of great macro shooting right under the dock!

Your questions about the property are answered in my trip report, Chilly... Rather than hog the OPs thread (anymore that I have already) I'll refer you there.

But, we really enjoyed the place... I described as being similar to a back-country heli-skiing operations... Kinda remote, and kinda awesome.

Unless you like golf!
