Sounds great! So far we have had two meetings. About 6 divers. A mixed group from various places that call BKK home. We have our next meeting scheduled for 7:00pm on April 29 @ Larry's. JD has a trip already planned so it will be interesting to get the details.
It is a small world and I bet we know many of the same people. Were you a member of Dam Nam? I joined them a while back but things never really got going. I gather they had a good size group a few years back. It will be good to have someone that knows how to use a pistol
So what about a roll call? Who can make the April 29th meeting? If you never posted before in the BKK Diver forum give us a little intro.
I know JD & Sundance will be there. How about Lin and Oshri?
We are pretty much a group trying to get divers together in BKK to share things we learned along the way and yes, plan some dive trips. Some people have already mentioned trips as we do like to dive with people we know and hopefully like The key is keeping it non shop affiliated. So far all experienced divers including a few instructors. You are welcome to join us on April 29 @ Larry's or PM as I will be diving Saturday May 2nd in Pattaya with a few people. We could meet Friday for drink in Pattaya.
Sounds like a good plan. I am not affiliated with the dive industry. I am Dive Master qualified and dove quite a bit of places around SE Asia over the last 20 years. Enjoy cold beer and would like to dive more in new places. Unfortunately I have a bunch of friends coming in to visit from April 26 - May 6. Than on May 7 I depart for Layang Layang for I hope some diving with hammerheads. Might be able to meet up for a quick drink on Friday ??? I'll PM you my mobile#
A real shame I won't be here on 29th - sounds like there will be a good turnout!
Slightly offtopic, but I spotted this announcement on Facebook for the launch of a new book about Raja Ampat in Bangkok on May 3rd. It seems to be mainly about Max Ammer, who pioneered Raja diving and runs two resorts out there.

Unfortunately I'm going to miss this event as well, but I've emailed the organisers asking for more info on the book. Thought it might be of interest to other group members.

Are you getting psyched for your trip? The first weekend in May?
I'm not really psyched yet, still have to finish all the planning and pick up my visa for Indo. They don't have a visa on arrival there unfortunately. Now I have to waste several hours and also pay 5X more than VOA. But it'll all be worth it! Got my rooms sorted and have been in contact with the Dive Op. Lumbalumba.com
I'll tell you all about it on the 29th. BTW I'm now not leaving until 2 May so I can meet on the 30th if that still works best.
