Oh my god, please let there be someone out here at this hour! My girlfriend is taking her OW1 class's first dive in the pool at 11 this am, its 2 a.m. now and I just found out in the shower that she freaks when she gets water in her mask. Please how can this be remedied by the intructor or me. It's her only achillies heel, please oh god help me help her someone, I am trying to help by filling her mask in the shower but wwhen she goes to clear she gets water in her nose and she goes ballistic. I know you guys can help. Now she is getting emotional and dreading the skill!!! Please...

Relax....
This is probably *the* most common problem we see in open water classes.
The Instructor will handle it.
It's what we do. :)

relief, she just got back and she told me the instructor helped her with some mask techniques. She is also now going to practice the technique outlined in the thread. You have all helped to insure that dive sport continues to grow. You guys are great.

Relieved and soon to have a dive buddy,
