Hi all,

I've been doing some research about some diving legends.

It's seems to me that there's nothing much available on the internet about this people.

They are the one's who gave me this "apetite" for diving, but they also where the one's who revealed what diving is all about...

Does anyone have info about this legends ???

I've gathered some stuff about Cousteau and Bruno Vailati, but it's not much. Anywhere I can get info about the real greats like Hans Hass and Walt Deas?

Thanks King, really nice articles on ScubaHistory.

I'm affiliated to a portuguese diving center called CPAS, it's a founder member of the CMAS and the 2nd oldest diving center in the world. And among other stuff we like to keep track on all diving history.

It's simply amazing what you have collected there and a rare and true display of who really "started it all"!

Thanks!

Here are a couple more people who have contributed to our sport that should be on the list:

Howard Hall and Stan Waterman.

Also, Rodney Fox is a very famous shark attack victim and scuba diver here in Aus.

Let me present to you the following "Diving Greats" that can't go without mention ... These are just some of the Divers that have enabled you to enjoy diving as you know it today!

You want to know the most ironic part of it all? Yet another testament to the honor and respect they so rightfully deserve, these are the kind of people that if you were to tell them you placed them in such a listing as the one below their most likely response would be, "Naa, now "so-and-so" (as in one of the others in that list) ... now there is a great diver" ...

1) Frank Galloway
2) Walt and Jean Deas
3) Dr. Jose Jones
4) Ric Powell
5) Rupert Giles
6) Michael Pelissier
7) Howard and Michelle Hall

These are the kind of divers that one can aspire to be like, and usually only dream of becoming.

Jacques Cousteau learned how to swim in the State of Vermont.

Just thought I throw in that little historical tib-bit.
