48 degree water and I was TOASTY! In fact, I probably could have left the shorty in the van.

My usual diving is with swimsuit, HP65 steel tank using 6# of weight. With the LF 2pc, 3mm, beanie, gloves and the same tank, I needed 24#'s. Maybe that will give you a starting point to figure your weights.

48 degrees in a 3mm full/shorty combo! Who needs a drysuit, order a Liquidfit!

Thanks Dee, just the info I was looking for.

Dee, what material did you select for your suit? I am planning on ordering a Liquidfit for my daughter.

Any other impressions of the suit you'd care to share?

I believe she has the Platinum suits, same as me. It's basically the same thing as Henderson's Gold Core cept it's silver. Goes on extremely easily when dry, but a little more difficult when wet. I'll be test diving mine this weekend in 59 degree Gulf temps. If they work as well as Dee's seem too, I'll be tickled pink and warm to boot!

I've read only good things about Liquidfit, but it will be nice to get some recent first person reviews. My daughter will be going to the B.V.I.'s this summer for a 3 week sail/dive camp for teens. Although the water will be relatively warm, I figure if she's doing two and three dives a day, a shorty might be nice on that second or third dive.

My Liquid fit suit has the platinum lining. Very easy to get on. But getting that sucker off is a chore! Which is one reason I really like it. The platinum lining seems to stick to your skin, like a sort of suction.

I have zippers in the ankles and wrists. After over 2 hours in the water, I had water up to my knees and elbows and a bit around my neck/collarbone area but my swim suit stay dry! Talk about an excellent fit!

My suit is a 3mm but they have others...1.5mm would be great for a shorty for daily use.

Call Carolyn and tell her what you need and she'll hook you up! Great Lady who reall knows what customer service is all about.

Dude, you should've waited a few weeks and resurrected this old thread on its 10th anniversary ...
