Just stopped in to say hi. I, too, have gotten bored with the Rodale board, and I heard good things about this one.

Been diving since 1982.... I was watching a Jacques Cousteau special about 3 months before a vacation trip to Hawaii. And I thought, "I can either sit here in front of the tube for the rest of my life, wishing I had learned to scuba dive, OR..." and the rest is history.

Did my first ocean dive off an old whaleboat landing on Kauai, just me and one divemaster. And I was hooked.

Now I dive mostly WPB once a year, and Bahamas if I get the chance. My wife dives, too.

Good to meet you all.

Hi Beachbum,

Welcome to Scuba Board! How's the diving in Virginia? I had heard that there are some decent wrecks in that neck of the woods.

Glad to have you here. I hope to see you around.

Cheers,

Heya Beachbum,

You mentioned, "Did my first ocean dive off an old whaleboat landing on Kauai, just me and one divemaster. And I was hooked." ...
It's just so nice to hear there are others out there that are so tortured and are forced to dive these most beautiful places, hehe. WAHOOO!!! Hooked is right! Diving since '82? Any place out of the ordinary or maybe of special mention?
I always love to hear some of the great diving experiences from veteran divers.

=-)

Glad to recognize a handle from RSD's board. This one's not as busy, but I think it will be easier to jump in whenever and follow. Of course, I still go back every other day or so to catch up with old friends on the Rhodale board.

I think you'll find each has its own +/- 's.

Glad to see another refugee from RSD's board. They got just to commerical and social for my tastes.

Welcome from Oregon! I came here a quite a while back from another board also (not the one you were on) and have not gone back since. Too much fun and too many good people here to go anywhere else.

Later, Hawk.
