ARRRGGGHHHHHH!
Me and my boyfriend are both keen divers and both love UW Photography!
We are looking to invest in a new digital camera but know very little on which is the best to buy - we know of cameras that store like 500 pictures but they tend to be quite expensive - does anyone have one?? Are they really worth the money???
When I am down taking piccys I can stay down for ages - not moving means I use very litte air and as i dont like chasing big fish i am quite happy with small clown fish and shrimps and stuff i stay down for ages and find i have to keep surfacing to change film - major pain in the behind!!!
Does anyone have a digital camera and can give some advice - it would be great!

We have a Canon Optura Digital video/still camera that we use in an Amphibico housing.

The pics are AWESOME... when you see them on the HDTV all you need is a reg in your mouth & you're back there!

Now if I can only find the right software to edit the footage....

Ok, you've baited us... where are these awesome pix? If you don't have your own website yet, BC a few to me and I'll put 'em up for you.

One of the divers on my trip last month to Fiji was using an Olympus camera in a clear plastic housing made by Olympus but not officially sold in the US. Ocean Brite imports it at twice the $200 price it sell for in Japan but it's still cheaper and more compact than the alternatives. The results were very good and I plan to get a similar setup for my wife, probably in the spring. A professional web page designer/videographer who was on the trip is now selling his Sony PC-100 setup, which he used for stills, and replacing it with the Olympus.

A few links I've found:

Hope this helps.
