I've just read the article about Marraco, at the Woman in Scuba website. That's really intereasting. And then she's assosiated with the museum I know. I'll love some more details about the find and maybe share some of my experience of the working enviroment on an off-shore drilling rig with her. Do you happen to have her E-mail adress?

DameDykker,

I will contact her for you and ask her to drop by, I can't give her email address out without permission but she may be more than happy to stop by and share some with us...

=-)

Thanks

Thats reasonable. I'll look forward to that. Maybe she/you want to send the message directly to my E-mail if she want to avoid public showing of same.

But anyway maybe she'd like to write more about the actual finds? Wrecks, under water constructions, city remains or what ever? From which age? And did they pick up anything and if that's the case where is it know and where will it later be on exibition??

Questions, question, questions I know but it is really interesting. :bounce:

Hi DameDykker,

I just wanted to let you know I did contact the woman who wrote the article about Morocco. I haven't heard back from her yet, but I am hoping she will join us here on the board to give us some more information and share her knowledge.

Cheers,

Hi hi DameDykker...
glad to know there are more female divers here in Denmark!!! I'd be happy to discuss diving in Morocco with you or other nautical/archaeology topics.

Concerning Morocco, I wish I could be more specific as to what we found, but the first survey report has yet to be published. It will hopefully be out by this April, and I can tell you where to get it, if you are interested, and also be free to discuss the published material then (sorry, not my rules but the government of Morocco's). But as to other questions regarding diving in Morocco in general, I'd be happy to answer any.

I'd also like to hear about diving here in Denmark--some of my colleagues here in Roskilde do dive, and a few are crazy enough to do it every weekend in the winter...I'd like to hear about what kind of diving you do, sites, osv....

Hi Everyone,

Please help me welcome the first female to ever lead a multinational Underwater Archeological survey in the country of Morocco! As a woman in the field of Nautical Archaeology, Athena Trakadas (aka Scubawench), provides us with a new look into this interesting aspect of our underwater world.

Let's all give her a warm ScubaBoard Welcome.

Glad to have you aboard!

Hi ScubaWrench

Glad you would reply! =-) I'm diving with a lot of different people here in DK.

1. My diving club Ammonnitter http://www.ammonitterne.subnet.dk, where we do mostly shore diving and a summer trip (Bornholm or Lysekilde, S)

2. Roskilde Fjord Gruppen where we are looking at remains from ca. 6000 b.c. in Roskilde Fjord. The museum contact is Søren Sørensen at Færgegården. The group found the Blark site some years earlier.

3. Various divecenters when I get too desperate for my diving fix.:devilish:

4. I just found a group in Helsingør whicht does deep dives all weekends in the year. They are called Crasydivers. I'm trying to join that group to get some winterdiving in!

5. Some fellows on Falster where we have made measurements on Kalmar Kastell (Swedish man of war sunk 1677). Here the contact is Jørgen Denker, whicht is now (I think) situated in Roskilde.

I think that covers the highlights. If you like write me a mail directly with telefon # and we can get a talk (much easier that writhing - at least for me).

Som vakse Viggo ville sige - så synes jeg nu at der er lidt mangel på god information om de dykninger i laver derovre...
men der nok mest en melding til web administratøren.

jeg vil hilse senere når jeg kommer til Danmark.

Terkel
