I was wondering if anyone has had a custom wetsuit made by LiquidFit? If you did, what kind is it and are you happy with it? Would you recommend them? I seem to be a bit hard to fit "right off the rack".

Thanks!

I have a 2pc 3mm...full 3mm suit and a 3mm sleeveless shorty. It has their Platinum lining which is a marvelous thing! I, too, am not an off-the-rack tupe of gal, so this suit is a pure pleasure to wear. It fits just like their name suggests, like it was poured on.

I am very happy with mine and I can highly recommend Liquid Fit. Call Carloyn and talk with her. She's an amazing Lady and will make sure you are completely satisfied. She also has some trick to help you get the measurements just right!

i highly recommend liquid fit to everyone!

i bought a two-piece suit (5mm full-body suit, and 3mm jacket); i also got a 5mm hood and i'm extremely happy with all of them. i got the platinum lining and the suit fits like a glove. once it's on, there is no adjuting it. the platinum lining really insulates me well (actually too well--i don't wear the jacket any more) but initially i thought i would need it because i dive in monterey, ca.

carolyn was wonderful and extremely helpful. she took her time to answer all my questions, and explained everything to me. i got the suit in less than two weeks. i think you'll be very happy with your suit if you decide to get it from her.

Hi Smitty,

I have five of them, ranging from a 7 mm farmer john to a 1.5 mmm steamer. They include a 3 mm full with a custom Viking design to die for.

They're not inexpensive suits, but then they are highly custom made & of good quality. I'd say they are a fair value. I don't know of anywhere else you'd get a comparable suit for any less.

Initial turn around time is on a par with any other custom maker. I'd leave yourself a full month. Ultimate turn around depends on if a return for adjustment is required. The measurement process is rather complex, and it's relatively easy to mismeasure.

Very strong plusses for Liquid Fit are flexibility & customer service. Basically, if it can be made, they'll do it. These are custom suits in the truest sense of the word. LF has the widest range of colors, designs & features of any suits I know. Also, they will work with you until you're 100% satisfied. The owner, Carolyn, will be happy to measure you personally if you can get to her, and I know of one very recent situation where she flew a good distance, at her own cost, to personally measure an odd shaped (I know him) customer who was experiencing serious fit issues.

For myself, I would not consider dealing with any other company.

Hope this was informative.

I have out grown my custom Harvey's suit which was a great fit & it also was a good choice at the time , I had the spine pad, zippers at wrist & ankles w/ backing at all zippers. [it's for sale] I just decided to go to a MOBBY's dry suit ,it offers SO MUCH FREEDOM as well as warmth, I thought I couldn't do the tight neck thing so I tried someone else's suit for 1 dive & I was hooked. consider trying a rental suit even in a pool before you buy a neoprene girdle [aka wet suit].
