AGA Full-Face

Quick question. Any suggestions on the silicon or rubber material regardless of demand versus pos. press. I kinda like the idea of the silicon lasting longer, but wasn't sure if the silicon would be strong enough at the head strap attachment points. From Sweden the grey colour is available in silicon as well as rubber and you can specify demand or pos. press., but I haven't seen the grey silicon in North America yet.

Any ideas

Just so happens you have come to the right place for this info. Ocean Technology Systems has aquired the rights to the AGA mask. It is no longer AGA, but now is Interspiro.
Same great mask, same great flavor. BRB...............

The silicone is really beefed up in that area and will outlast the rubber many times over, plus will avoid the nasty affects of UV. It now even comes in different colors, but not available in leopard or gold lamae as of yet.

Mrs. don & I are both ordering one soon along with the comm. gear.

I like the idea of the silicone model, so I'm glad to hear its strong enough.
I end up diving in some areas that resemble semi-thick green pea soup, so a full face has been in the works for a while now(and I really like the interspiro).

lol...no leopard print yet? I think there should be a leopard print smilie icon.

Hey Bio Guy, I'm actually in the middle of a write-up on the Interspiro Divator II Full Face Mask (ID2 FFM) and I'll let you know all about it soon! In short however they are awesome and you can get them in Grey, Yellow, Beige or Black (New) in either pp or demand. Though the Yellow and black are demand as the standard. If you are diving open circuit scuba, you want the demand!

Don, definitely let me know the details. I get into some weird places so it would be easy to take a few samples, throw them under the microscope and do some classification counts.

Don and Dee..not really the right forum, but here's one of my icky diving stories:

I needed to get into a shallow bay to do an aquatic plant survey (no boat available). The only way in was to walk through another small swampy bay in full gear on a hot summer day (cold water). The bay had about a foot (~30cm) of what is "affectionately" known around here as "loon mud" (other more colourful variations exist..lol). So anyway...I was making my way through and I could hear the small branches imbedded in the mud breaking with each step...and every step I took I was sure I was going to puncture my suit and let in the wonderful stuff. I was almost to the point of open water and up to my knees in "swamp water/loon mud" (no scientific terms needed!), when an embedded branch hooked my foot and I went flat out..my snorkel ended up down in the ooze. I jumped up as fast as I went down and tore my snorkel in half...after a while of bare-handed rooting through the goo I gave up on finding it....Finally arrived at the site and finished what needed to be done....turned around and realized "I still have to get back"
BTW: I highly recommend Swamp water/loon mud. It tastes about as good as it sounds. (Now what were the names of those vaccines?...lol)

Sounds very similar to our cow mud. Thick, oozy, dark green in color and an aroma you won't soon wash out of most materials. We frequently have to walk through this ankle to knee deep stuff to get towards the middle of the pond...which is where it's finally deep enough to decend. We seldom have to walk over sticks or anything but the rocks can be slick as owl mud. Don and I both have done the Full Face Plant maneuver on occasion.
