I'm a Fish!
First, I understand fully that the term "fair price" means different things to different people.

Second, I am completely ignorant with respect to boat prices.

Third, I've tried "googling" but have yet to find a selling price for a combination of boat and motor that I describe.

Now, all of that said !!!

A friend of mine is offering me his Avon 10-1/2' RIB with a Yamaha 8 HP motor for $1500.
The boat is about 8 years old and the motor about five.

The boat is in "good" condition and the motor "excellent" condition with very, very few hours on it.

Would you say this pricing is average, high or low?

Keep in mind, I don't have a clue.

. . . thanx

This where ebay can be very helpful. Even if you don't find the exact combo, you are likley to find comparable outboards, and hulls. Also search under "completed items", this produces completed transactions, so you have "real" prices.

BTW, my gut WAG reaction, without any research, is $1500 is in the ballpark, maybe a little high. Time of year plays a big part. End of summer boat prices drop.

We already knew that.......just kidding :D

I paid $2k for my Zodiac SIB w/10hp. You're getting a better boat for cheaper.

I'de snag it if its in good condition. That to me is a good deal for a English made RIB

The motor is worth the price if it's in really good condition. If the boat's in good condition it's a good deal.

I paid about 2100 for my 10.5 avon rib about 2 years ago at West Marine.
At the time I had a 7 year old 8hp nissan that I paid a 1000 new. I have since upgraded to 15 hp merc (last year) for about 2000.
Sounds like a good deal to me if they are in good shape. Its a great dive setup for 2 people if you are diving 1 tank each. I use a grapple anchor with 100 ft of rode
Very sea worthy craft, I have been oout as far as 3 miles offshore. I f you have exp. and know how to handle a boat, these craft can handle some pretty snotty weather.
