BCD - Cressi, deflating? New in box, question?

I bought a new Cressi BCD. When I blow into it to fully inflate it (I can barely pinch it with my fingers), after an hour or so its not as firm as it once was. It's not going flat or nothing drastic, or isnt doing anything immediately but as time goes by (30min, 60min, etc) it becomes less firm.

It's new, never seen water. I just got certified, so is this something thats common or?

There are many seals to a BC(D) and without getting it wet you will not know why/where the BC is not holding air. Dunk it in a full bathtub or larger body of water.

Where the inflator/deflator attaches to the BC can leak if not tightened correctly, the kidney plug (or kidney dump) can leak if not tightened correctly, I've seen the knob for a right shoulder dump get "caught in the shoulder strap such that it kept the dump open a little, sand can cause leaking in the deflate hose mechanism (but you would see those bubbles when diving).

The shoulders and kidney you wouldn't necessarily see the bubbles when diving (your buddy would - right?).

Find out where it's leaking.

It should remain fully inflated for weeks and months or years.
If you do not find something that is obvious or loose.
Take it back for them to fiddle or replace.
No wetting or soaking for you.
