Will regular old 2" nylon webbing from someplace like REI work? Or do I need to buy some kind of diving-specific 2" webbing?

I had a feeling that was the answer. The strap on the BP I just got feels way stiffer than normal 2" webbing. I thought MAYBE that was because it was 10 years old. I guess not.

Thanks, tbone!

From the pictures, that webbing looks new, but, the cat has got to go. One of my greatest fears in life is that my Dad's monster cat will take a shine to my Halcyon wing in his basement . Maybe you can retrain him. If not, make him a little hobo stick and send him on his way.

LOL! The cats are much less of a threat to any of my stuff than the dogs.

I will leave the existing strap if it's long enough - but I'm pretty sure it's not. I'm taking the rig down to my LDS this afternoon for some help setting it up. Then, hopefully, taking it all to the pool this weekend to spend a little time with it there before going to RM next week.

Oh, and evad, I would suggest a nice Rubbermaid bin for your wing. :)

No matter what leave the crotch strap where it is...don't try to replace it!

Why is that? I wasn't going to replace it, but you're piqued my curiosity.
