Madison Blue Spring open to cavern diving

Just now we received word from the park manager at Madison Blue that cavern diving will be allowed. He also informed us that he will have this added to the parks' website.

The NFSA thanks the park management for listening to our members' comments and concerns and also for opening Madison up for cavern diving.

We also hope and expect that cavern divers will always dive within the limitations of their certification and training. Part of the discussion that transpired between park management and NFSA BoD members involved explaining to park management that cavern divers holding cavern certification cards are formally trained and aware of the limitations placed on them by their certification. We also informed management that we feel cavern divers are responsible enough to dive within those limitations.

Thank you to the park management and the NFSA for making this happen! I hope that cavern divers remember that this was changed back for us, and stay within our limits. I look forward to meeting some of the NFSA that helped with this at the advanced skills workshop at Peacock on August 21, and will be joining the NFSA tonight.
