Looks as if this year is getting off to a rather rough start. Not even 5 months into the year & already 5 fatalities. That's 5 too many in my opinion. Please everyone (though most of you really don't need to be reminded), dive safely. I really enjoy listening to everyone's reports & stories. Let's pray this is the end of this terrible news for this year.
We have been lucky down here. 2 deaths with in 12 month of each other. Before that there was a great stretch in between. However, zero deaths are easily obtainable. Education and knowledge is key and will lead to a better dive community. It still amazes me how many people break simple and life saving rules.
The CDF just reported the deaths of 4 more (OW) divers (on a tour) in a cave in Italy. That's 14 cave fatalities this now,.... & the year is barely 1/2 over. One death is too many....
Please people, be careful. If you really want to dive into overhead environments, please, please get good training.
