Cross posted from CDF:
We were there yesterday. It was a gorgeous day and only one other team was there. The park filled in the sink hole at the entrance, so that should help with the traffic flow into the park. Be sure to check out the lightning strike on the pine tree right next to it.
It is still closed to swimmers, so we felt really guilty surrounded by adorable little kids wanting to get wet while we stood in the nice cool water gearing up.
The basin is very clear except the area right near the rabbit hole, which is blowing dark. And by blowing, I mean "THIS CAVE DOES NOT WANT YOU AND YOU WILL BE REJECTED!" blowing.
The flow is definitely up, but the clarity, except as mentioned above, is improving nicely.
The basin is coated in sand without any of the pretty blowing greens we are normally treated to, and the fish are sand digging, looking for goodies, I suppose.
It is a great time to work on your cave reading skills (yes, there are paths around the worst of the flow) and your pull-and-pull-no-DON-T-LET-GO-OH-CRAP-SMACK skills (Note, do not follow too closely to your buddy unless you like the taste of fins
)
Dive safe, y'all!
